The recent merger of Cablevisión and Telecom Argentina, as well as the AT&T acquisition of DirecTV or the launch of Movistar Play across different markets (to name a few), have signalled an important shift in content distribution not only in Argentina, but also across the entire region. The emergence of quad-play services in the region has opened the door to new revenue streams and new services for subscribers based around content. However, this is still a young proposition across the region and requires appropriate regulatory frameworks to be set up, new technology and above all, customer adoption. The Latin America Media and Convergent Services Summit will focus on the future of mobile and content distribution across the region and the key hurdles that operators and the wider ecosystem have to overcome to make quad play a reality.
