Kathryn S. Schloessman is President & CEO of the Los Angeles Sports & Entertainment Commission (LASEC). Founded in 1995, LASEC is contracted by Los Angeles Tourism (the city’s official destination marketing organization) as the official entity working on behalf of the Los Angeles to attract and retain major sporting and entertainment events in L.A. and surrounding areas. These events deliver a positive social, cultural, and economic impact on the local community and spotlight the destination as the undisputed Entertainment Capital of the World.
Schloessman leads LASEC’s strategic efforts to bring major events to Los Angeles and partners with the City and the region’s iconic venues to host a successful experience, ensuring their desire for a future return. She is also responsible for overseeing and managing the organization’s day-to-day operations.
Under Schloessman’s leadership at LASEC, Los Angeles is confirmed to host mega sporting events such as NCAA Men’s Regional in 2020; NFL’s Super Bowl in 2022; College Football Playoff National Championship Game in 2023; and is also a Candidate Host City for the FIFA World Cup in 2026. LASEC works closely with major entertainment award shows such as the GRAMMY Awards.
LASEC also hosts four annual events aimed at bringing LASEC board members and community supporters together with industry leaders: Dodgers All-Access, Lakers All-Access, LASEC Golf Classic at The Riviera Country Club and NFL All-Access.
Prior to joining LASEC, Schloessman was a 13-year veteran of CB Commercial (now CBRE), the largest commercial real estate company in the United States. As managing officer of CB Commercial’s Downtown Los Angeles office, she was responsible for business development, operations and management of the L.A. region’s office professionals and oversaw CB Commercial’s community relations efforts. Schloessman also served as marketing director for CB Commercial’s Western Division and has more than 10 years of experience as lead broker for major lease transactions in the Downtown L.A. market.
Schloessman is an active member of Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO). Schloessman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
